It can be hard to sort truth from fiction – especially when it comes to what you’re eating.
Which are good fats and which are bad? Dairy or dairy-free? Are carbs really the enemy or part of a balanced diet?
Foodvisor – Calorie Counter is a nutrition coach that can help you answer these questions and empower you to make more nutritious choices, even when you’re on the go.
Create a profile, indicating your gender, age, height and weight, and an objective: to lose weight, eat more healthily or gain muscle. Lastly, indicate your activity levels, and Foodvisor will estimate your recommended daily calorie intake, broken down by fats, proteins, carbs and fibres. You can tinker with it later.
Now it’s time to start logging: snap a picture of your plate and the app will try to tag the ingredients, roughly estimate the total calories and the total grammes of fat and carbohydrates in the meal.
Tap on each tag for further information on the nutritional profile of each ingredient. You can also scan barcodes and save favourite meals in order to log them quickly.
You can set goals – like weight loss – and you can also track your step count and workouts, so that Foodvisor can help you recalibrate your daily routine accordingly. Enable notifications to be (gently) reminded to log a meal; though unlike some programmes, Foodvisor feels friendly and judgement-free, more like a cheerleader than a taskmaster.
