Twinkl Symbols for AAC is an app aimed at supporting access and communication for children and young people with special educational needs and/or speech, language and communication needs. The app uses our range of over 8,000 professionally designed and illustrated symbols to create highly personalised resources that will support users to participate, make choices, comment and ask and answer questions.

The app features over a hundred ready-made templates to support you in creating personalised communication boards and books, flashcards and word banks which can be populated using our vast array of Twinkl symbols or even using photographs from your camera roll. The app also features symbolised timers, now and next boards, timetables and planners which are great for supporting learners with transitions and our reward charts and debrief chart templates can support learners to better understand their feelings and behaviours.

The app aims to provide children and young people with an affordable, accessible and flexible communication tool that is available across a range of devices to facilitate communication ‘on the go’.
