Can’t Sign in with Apple ID

I don’t usually low rate on a app that I have never used, but the promise of helping me sleep better made me very excited. However, when signing up with my Apple account, I could not do it. They asked for a code that should have arrived on my email, but never arrived. Also, I have never had to submit a code when signing up directly from my Apple account.
Therefore, I was really worried that once I paid for the trial plan, it would be impossible to cancel in case the treatment did not work.
Also, since there aren’t enough reviews, it’s a bad sign that the app is not popular and so how could I know if it’s good? I mean, I promise so good like this should be very popular.
I hope I’m wrong, and this is just a glitch, but I will not risk getting my credit card charge without my permission.
