Description
Images, animation, text and video describing the casting technique: Cire Perdue.
In this app you can learn about Cire Perdue.
Cire Perdue is a technique for casting jewelry or sculptures in gold, silver, bronze or any other cast metal. It is also called Lost Wax Casting in English. The name - both in French and in English; describes how the technique works: you make a model in wax, and when you want to reproduce it in metal, the original model in wax is lost.
The app presents text, pictures and video where you can study the process from wax carving, burning out, casting and finishing of jewelry in silver.
There is also a section about 3D-printin a cartable wax-model.
In this section you can play with the interactive slicing tool and watch how the 3D-model is sliced into a printable file.
In the app you can open an Augmented Reality scene. In this scene you can explore the parts of a wax-tree. By tapping the objects you can see each parts name. The scene also provides an animation that shows how the wax-tree is assembled. This animation can be replayed by tapping the circular arrow.
