Description

Some of our classics are now mechatronic.
With our alarm locks, in addition to the high mechanical safety, we set an alarm of up to 100 dB, which has already proven itself in motorcycle safety.
The lock turns your smartphone into a digital key with the help of the app. This enables your smartphone and the lock to interact
and allows for convenient opening and closing of the lock without the need to have your smartphone in your hand. The lock communicates with your smartphone via a secure Bluetooth connection. As soon as you are within a 2-m radius of the lock it can be unlocked.
Another useful function is access authorisation. Access authorisations can be sent to other people via SMS message. These can be managed in the app. Access rights can be granted on a permanent basis or for limited periods. Up to eight additional people can be taught in via the app. The fact that you can manage multiple locks via the app makes it ideal for groups and families. It is also possible to operate several ABUS locks at the same time from one mobile.

App needs improvement
My two star rating is for the app only. ABUS the company is great to deal with. I am using the ABUS Bordo 6500A SmartX folding lock, which is also very nice.
The automatic keyless entry using the app does not work well. Sometimes when I approach the lock, it continually connects and disconnects. I have to force quite the the app and manually unlock the lock in the app.
Other times I have to force quite the app so that I could connect to the lock.
A few times, I had a difficult time altogether connecting to and unlocking the lock.
On the very few times the lock worked as described, it was great.
I hope that ABUS is able to improve the app to work properly and consistently.
I am running a iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 16.3.1, which is currently the latest version, and the most updated firmware for the lock.
ABUS … if you need a beta tester for any software or firmware upgrades, I am willing to help.
App is buggy
I want to like this app, but I bought one of your locks for $500 to protect a $3000 dollar e-bike, and on occasion it will lock and then unlock itself repeatedly, making me unsure if it’s safe to leave my bike. Occasionally this will happen while riding and then the alarm goes off and I have to put the bulky part of the lock in my bag so people don’t think I’m stealing my own bike. If these problems didn’t exist I would rate it 5 stars.
