• View and edit upcoming scheduled bills and transfers.
TRANSFERS
• Send money instantly with Interac® eTransfer.
• Transfer money between your Alterna Bank accounts.
• Transfer money to and from your accounts in another Financial Institution (you must be signed up with Me to Me Transfer in online banking).
DEPOSIT
• Quickly and securely deposit your cheques by using your smartphone or tablet. Just select ‘Move Money’ and ‘Deposit’, select the account you would like to make your deposit to, take a picture of both sides of your endorsed cheque, enter the dollar amount, and submit it. That’s it.
LOCATE ATMs
• Search or use your current location to find nearby ATMs.
SECURITY
• Your security is our top priority, which is why our mobile banking app uses the same level of secure protection as our full Online Banking.
• Receive messages about your account on your phone

• Display your balances at-a-glance without having to log in with QuickView (you must enable this feature)

To take full advantage of the Alterna Bank app, you must be an Alterna Bank customer, plus already be registered for and have logged into Online Banking. If you’re not an Online Banking user, you can still use the locator feature to find the closest ATM, including THE EXCHANGE® Network ATMs, check our rates or quickly find our contact information.

Transfers not working

I have been using the app for almost 2 years now and recently it has not been letting me transfer money from my TD account to my alterna account. I have an iPhone 11 and have uninstalled the app and called the alterna customer support desk to try and mitigate the situation. No luck yet...

It works

There isn’t anything exciting about this app. You can sign in with Face ID, see your balances, pay a bull, send an etransfer. That’s about it.

Like the website, this app is light years behind any other bank. I guess that is the price we pay for higher interest rates?

Can’t login with strong password

I have recently changed my password to password manager generated one, and while I can login successfully in a browser, the app is telling me that my access code is wrong right away and I can’t even click on the login button (it’s disabled). Reading all the other reviews, you should definitely invest more money on your website and your app. It’s years behind the competition, it doesn’t feel safe and it’s buggy as hell. No client ever wants that when it comes to money, and I have myself decided to open a checking account with Tangerine because I couldn’t imagine using such a poor platform on a daily basis.
