Want to turn your device into the ultimate mobile guitar and bass tone studio? AmpliTube puts the power in your hands with a massive collection of virtual gear that you can use to practice, play and record with world-class tone anytime and everywhere.
Build your own guitar or bass rig with up to 6 stompbox FX, an amplifier and speaker cabinet w/mic.
Just plug your instrument into your iPad with one of IK's instrument interfaces like iRig 2 or iRig HD 2, and get ready to be blown away.
AmpliTube gives you 17 stompbox effects, 8 amplifiers, 10 speaker cabinets and 2 mics, a free Loop Drummer Rock groove pack and a 2-track recorder. You can expand this selection via a massive library of over 100 pieces of gear that includes amps and stompboxes from the world’s best brands like Fender™, Soldano®, Ampeg®, ENGL®, Orange®, T-Rex® and many more.
Thanks to AmpliTube's Cab Room, you will actually feel like you are in your own professional recording studio. Mic your cabinets in full 3D in a beautifully rendered virtual studio environment with 2 iconic guitar mics (expandable to 16 mic models available via in-app purchase).
Get creative with loops in AmpliTube via its Super Looper, which is available through in-app purchase. It makes it easy to record, play back, adjust levels and play along with up to 4 loops. Loops are easy to set and trigger, with external control for live use.
Need a drummer? Use the built-in Loop Drummer system to jam to killer drum tracks. Use AmpliTube’s streamlined built-in 8-track recorder and DAW-style studio (available via in-app purchase) to record, edit, tweak and share your songs via SoundCloud, file sharing or email.
Ready to get out of the studio? AmpliTube’s new Live Mode offers an optimized GUI designed specifically for live use. See your entire rig at a glance, with all the settings and controls you need displayed in an easy-to-read format designed for the stage.
And control your virtual rig just as easily as you would a traditional multiFX pedal with new iRig Stomp I/O integration, so you can change presets, trigger FX, loops and more all right from your feet. Or go wireless with iRig Blueboard, a wireless Bluetooth controller for basic control on the go.
Whether it’s at home, in the studio or on stage, AmpliTube is the dream rig you’ve always wanted, in a device that’s always with you!

Ratings and Reviews
To those who are giving it poor reviews, must not be using it correctly. This app is absolutely indispensable and a key piece of gear in my home studio. I can get professional sounding guitars and bass quickly and easily. The sounds are clear as a bell and the number of tools to sculpt that sound is mind blowing. Yes, it's expensive to purchase all the amps and pedals a microphones, but way cheaper than the real deal, plus I can achieve way better results way quicker (and quieter) than if I were recording live amplifiers. Sure, a purist might hate this digital platform, but for what I need it is more than good enough. Ive even used it for live performances and no one in the audience was the wiser!
For best results, I use this simply as an outboard unit and then patch out into my recording interface into Ableton Live. No need to use the recording feature on the app. Simply use IK iRig from my guitar and set up whatever rig I want for my recording. Saving presets is a lifesaver.
If you send this to a tube pre-amp like the ART Pro Channel II, before your interface, you can add some more organic warmth, EQ and Compression to the guitar rig.
Long story short, if you don't think this app is incredible, you're using it wrong!
This is a fantastic app. It's very polished; it looks incredible, and it works exactly as it should. The effects are great, and the 8-track Mixer is a nice touch. I'd like to give it 5 stars, and indeed I would have…if not for their very questionable practices regarding in-app purchases.
If you buy the free version, begin loading it up with in-app purchases such as effects pedals and/or the 8-track mixer, and then decide to upgrade it to the full, paid version…GOTCHA! You discover that IK Multimedia will not transfer your in-app purchases to the upgraded version. You are expected to buy all of those in-apps AGAIN! They do not connect your purchases with you, the user; instead they are tied to the app.
Similarly, if you bought the app on your iPad to learn how to use it, and then want to use the smaller form-factor iPhone or iPod Touch to play the gig…GOTCHA again! They will not transfer your in-app purchases to your other devices either. I was so terribly disappointed to discover this unethical practice from a company that I was initially so excited about. Don't let their "Musicians first" slogan fool you; it's clearly money first. At the very least they should have written something about this in their descriptions, so we know what we're getting into. I hope this helps someone to avoid being unpleasantly surprised like I was. I really love the app…I just don't love this company anymore.
This app is rubbish - I bought it only to find all effects and amps are extra - $6 to $10 a shot.
