Antivirus Zap found 14 tracking cookies
I tried Antivirus Zap for the first time and was impressed how easy it was. I hadn’t used a virus or adware program for a long time and was happy that the product caught these 14 tracking cookies. I would recommend this product.
Did the job!
Found 15 adware and one phishing. All removed. App was free and worked!
Good app REVISED ASSESSMENT
I’ve used this app for some months now. So far it’s only found one infected item, but them I’m very careful and a minimalist with respect to programs, use of the web, etc. One thing I thought quite interesting is that at one point the app, when finished, said I had some 83,000 files. Then, after I got rid of a lot of stuff, apps and other files, that I was unhappy with or no longer needed, the number went down to 44,600 files. Useful to have that count.
UPDATE: The above still stands BUT I now have a serious doubt about this program. A few minutes ago I ran it and, as usual, it told me it had updated itself at 4:21 on Sept. 23, 2018. It then proceeded to start the scan. At that point I noticed that my WiFi was turned OFF. How could the program update itself with no WiFi?
Just to check, I clicked on the “Support” icon and then on “Contact Us” and my email program came up with a blank email to Antivirus Zap but also with an alert that I was not connected to the InterNet. So, again, how could the program update itself? I suddenly don’t trust Antivirus Zap and will look for another app.

Thank you for your feedback. It is bug in the current version. it happens when the update fails silently. The malware database is updated several times a day and the adware database is fairly small so it is always downloaded fully that is why we assume its always up-to-date. We already fixed this issue internally so it will be fixed in the next version 3.6.2.
