3.9 client update that’s been pushed out in conjunction with this software will ruin your day. While installation / deployment issues are manageable; loss of ability to reliably use meta keys (Option/Control/Shift) is extremely unpleasant. There is no way to downgrade the client; you will be stuck.
The steady decline in quality of Apple’s software over the past several years is troublesome; this release continues the trend. :-(
3.9 is supper buggy
ARD has never been wonderful, but at least it would mostly get the job done. 3.9 has been supper slow and buggy. Some features just dont work at all. There has been no update (other than on the client side) since it came out - i think back in Feb. I really wish Apple would invest more resources in their enterprise tools. it’s been kinda sad over these past several years.
3.9 is bad update. Stay away if you can.
It’s full of bugs. Scanner sometimes doesn’t work properly. If you log in with ARD Admin 3,9 to updated 3.9 client after logging out computer has “Access Denied” status and you have to restart ARD Admin to fix that. Breaks connectivity with 3.8.5 and older clients, unless you select “Allow communication with older clients” in Preferences>Security, which defeats the purpose.
I wonder was this release even tested at Apple? The Quality Assurance went down the hill lately.
