Even handed News coverage of the entire world. Educational while being seriously interesting.

If you yearn to ‘know’ and understand the workings across the planet, stay tuned. BBC will get you there, along with comic relief, music to suit any taste and radio plays that cover the gamete. Like having a welcome friend in tow!

Great free app. No ads. There is something for everyone with a wide choice of channels. You can stream live radio or listen to past shows.

A solution in search of a problem

I get a few podcasts from the BBC. They sometimes have adverts (shock horror) but that's ok. They know my IP address is outside the uk and it's how I pay in lieu of a TV licence. Now they're moving their podcasts to this app (or you can use your normal podcast app but they will delay the feed for a month) Not great for shows like the Newsquiz which discusses that week's news. OK so I begrudgingly download it thinking the worst case is now I have 2 different apps for my podcasts. Of course its an ugly as all hell and a bloated useless app nowhere near as good as Downcast. But here's the thing. Most of the podocasts I subscribed to on BBC sound just comes up as "not available in your country". Is this really a good idea? This seems like a good way to drive people to bittorrent.
