Boomerang Parental Control brings screen time features to build positive behaviours for your kids’ digital wellness and time spent on their non-iOS mobile devices.

Boomerang Parental Control dot not provide any controls of child iOS device. Our iOS app here is for complete mobile device control for kids’ non-iOS devices (those the start with "A") from your parent iPhone or iPad.

ABOUT PARENT MODE on iOS

Control your child’s non-iOS devices (you know, the ones that start with “A”)
▶ Control device allocated screen time and scheduled screen time - customize time on a daily basis
▶ Set daily time allowance on individual apps - example: limit social apps to 15 minutes per day
▶ App controls: allow, block and encourage the use of good apps beyond screen time limits for good screen time
▶ Approve new installed apps (block is default behaviour) - get notified and review newly installed apps before your child can use them
▶ Call logs and Texting logs: review your kids call logs and text logs. Optionally, collect all text content
▶ Call safety: allow phone calls only from your kid’s local contacts, block specific numbers and always allow important numbers
▶ Text message safety: Get notified when inappropriate words are received or sent on your child’s non-iOS device
▶ Review YouTube app viewing history and searches - Kids want the real YouTube so a very popular and important feature for parents

Works well - but rearranges icons

Got the app to help my son with Asperger’s, manage screen time during school hours. Due to some OCD tendencies, my son prefers all icons be in folders rather than cluttering up the home screen. Worked fine in removing access to apps by removing the icons - but when the icons reappear they don’t go back into the folders, which causes to much stress and aggravation - having to rearrange icons 3 times a day. Otherwise would have worked well.

Thanks for the review and feedback. The icons re-arranging is a limitation we've experience with iOS on iPhones. For some strange reason, we've seen it be fine on iPads as long as all groups are on the first main screen but it's not consistent. We continue to investigate and have communicated directly with Apple on this issue so it could be fixed in a future iOS version.

Saving my sanity

This app has been a blessing for me and my wife. We always thought parenting is the best way to limit screen time. How naive. Boomerang has helped us keep our boys’ education (grade 3 and 1) on track during this pandemic while we were thrust into the role of homeschoolers. After set up, the kids’ tablets have become virtual classes and every moment spent not “in class” has looked like recess with the boys running around and playing physically. We had to manually hide the tv remotes of course.

Apple Screentime is much better

I find it quite despicable how this company is making the app look so great and when I actually use it on my kids it DOES NOT WORK. The screentime did not work like said. I caught my son watching inappropriate movies at 11pm in his room! Nobody waste your time with this app.
