This application provides a quick and easy way to estimate the Federal and Provincial taxes one would expect on their earnings and capital gains!

Given the annual expected earnings for the year, the calculator provides the total income taxes and EI/CCP/QPP deductions, and net income. It also displays a graphical representation of the income taxes, periodic earnings, tax bracket breakdown and comparison against other provinces and territories.

All tax calculations are done locally and will not leave your device. No tax input information is linked to the user. The calculator has an optional capital gains field, eligible dividends, ineligible dividends and RRSP contribution field. The RRSP input will be used to assess the RRSP refund that may contribute to a tax refund for the year.

Very Helpful

Simple to use and lets you do your tax planning for multiple scenarios very quickly. I really like it.

Enter Custom Income Tax Amount?

This is Ok. It really needs the option to enter the actual income tax you paid as per your T4 (rather than only calculating what you should have paid). That way, you get a more accurate representation of what you could be owing (or could be getting as a refund).

Changed too much

This app has changed too much. Hard to modify information. Cant accurately calculate the income as it’s limited to annual income figure… would be easier to have the option to use a break down. A person in the trades sometimes works more than 80 hours a week doing 13 hour days for 14 days with 1 week off… it gave us the wrong hourly wage.
