Description
Caves of Lore is a turn-based, pixel-art, fantasy CRPG that combines elements of environmental exploration and character interaction with tactical, grid-based combat.
I'm a self-taught solo-dev who built this passion project over 6 years while holding down a full time job and raising a family. I dedicated myself to work 5 minutes a day no matter what, and built the game piece by piece, not really knowing where I was going or how it would all end.

Version 1.6.8
Thank you for all your suggestions on how to make Caves of Lore better. I've updated the game with some New Items to round out some sets and legendary weapons, along with Monster Spawn Controls, New thumbstick options, Better controller support and Rebinding, External audio support, Screen rotation and zoom options, Better Character Creation info, Updated Abilities and other QoL features. Just good old-fashioned fun. Do yourself a favour and pick this up before your next long flight.
Mike has done an incredible job with this game. It is a full-fledged RPG experience that reminds me of playing my old computer and PS One games back in the day. It is so much fun, with lots of story and lore. I am 17 hours into the game, and I feel like I have only scratched the surface. Seriously considering picking it up on Steam as well for my second playthrough.

This is a great, great, game.
This all started with me complaining I wanted a mobile game that wasn’t simply a micro-transaction / ad-riddled / pay-to-keep-playing style of game that has absolutely plagued mobile gaming.
I did a search for ad-free quality mobile games and came across this recommendation in a reddit thread.
This game is EXACTLY what I was hoping for.
To the developer(s), good for you and your team. This is a diamond among all the hot hot garbage juice that is mobile gaming.

Decent gameplay
Decent gameplay but the UI is a little convoluted and the dialogue options with NPCs are pretty redundant.
