CiderTV is a bluetooth remote control for 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Apple TV. Control your Apple TV right from your Mac.
The app lets to navigate between menus right from your Mac.
Main controls:
Arrow left = Move to the left
Arrow right = Move to the right
Arrow up = Move up
Arrow down = Move down
Enter = Select
Esc = Menu
Hotkeys:
Option + Arrow up = Select previous device
Option + Arrow down = Select next device
Option + Shift + Tab = Hide/Unhide CiderTV window

I will upgrade rating and review later… today it works!
I was wary of downloading as other reviews were a tad negative. I had a malfunctioning appletv 2 remote, and was using the appletv remote app on my iphone which worked great.
however, at times was inconvenient usually while i was on my macbook, i looked for a mac app alternative. google pointed to ezzi keyboard but seemed only useful for text entry, not so much a “remote” replacement. but saw cidertv by the same company. download it. bluetooth pairing was initially slow but after a computer reboot, cidertv paired up quickly and i immediately had control of my appletv 2 through the app.
so today i am happy. will let you know if opinion changes.
Connectivity, security issues
Does not stay connected to any apple tv’s in bluetooth range. Website is red flagged as unsecure so not worth trying to visit it. Other than all that it’s awesome.
