Description

CoCoRaHS Observer for iOS is an application that lets registered volunteer Observers submit their daily precipitation reports via their mobile device. In addition, users can view past reports to ensure accuracy.

CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow). By using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive Web-site, their aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications. They have volunteer observers in all fifty states.

This application is provided by Steve Woodruff and Appcay Software, not CoCoRaHS. Questions, comments, and issues can be reported to us at www.appcay.com.

Does Not Convert Imperial to Metrics accurately

Limited functionality allowing basic precipitation measurements only. The metric sliding button to convert readings from imperial unit doesn't accurately display correct conversion. For example, there are many occasions where a reading of 0.20 mm is displayed as 0.00 inches when submitted and displayed on the Canadian map. In some situations, the conversion can be off by as much as 0.5 mm. Canadian users would greatly appreciate if the dev team correct this ASAP. Otherwise, cumulative sum of these conversion errors would result in inaccurate readings.

Good, but needs metric!

Good, but it needs a metric option for Canadians and our backwards metric measurement rain gauges. Please add a metric feature!
