Connect Study 4+

Connect Study is developed for research purposes only. The app passively collects the data and then uploads it to our secure servers at the Northeastern University. It also has the functionality to pop research surveys and collect user responses. Users can connect their Garmin watch with the App, and the app gathers accelerometer and heart rate data from the watch.

These are the contextual information being collected by the Connect Study App.
- Location (GPS)
- Motion and Activity Types
- Screen Lock and Unlock events
- Wi-Fi information (Only about the currently connected Wi-Fi network)
- BLE Devices (like Heart-rate sensor, or some bluetooth headphones)
- Phone Battery state and level
- Screen brightness level
- Survey Responses
- Garmin Watch data

** NOTE **
- The app requires a username and password, which will be only provided to our selected participants

- The app needs to use the location sensor to keep running in the background to passively collect and upload the data. Please select “Always Allow” for location updates.
- Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
- In addition, this app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can decrease device battery life
