Description
We all have a cranky uncle who thinks he knows better than the world’s scientists. But how do you make sense of his arguments and conspiracy theories? The way to understand your cranky uncle is to become a cranky uncle! If you’re going to spot someone cheating at cards, first you have to learn how to cheat at cards.
In this game, Cranky Uncle teaches you the rhetorical techniques and logical fallacies he uses to deny science. Climate change, evolution, vaccination, a round Earth - he’s never met a science he wouldn’t deny! The deeper you get into the game, the more resilient you become against misinformation.

Great start, needs work
Skeptical Science helped me see that I was being intellectually dishonest about climate science, so I’m a fan. I completed this entire app in one sitting (well, standing), and it seems like a great tool for teaching these things. My main criticism is that the punctuation needs a lot of work—plenty of errors in there, such that I had to read some questions twice in order to understand. Another minor one is that the multiple choice answer boxes are sometimes too small for the text, so it overflows outside them (at least on my screen). But the value of a teaching tool like this far outweighs these criticisms. Still, it would be good to get that punctuation looked at. Thanks!
Great App to Inoculate Against Misinformation

Does not work
App harvests your email address and then does nothing further. There are six buttons: “Home” brings you back to the home page. “Denial” flickers then also bounces me back to home. “About” takes me to a “Consent setting” button which allows me to take a research quiz, but the quiz ends with a “Submit” button that crashes the app. The “Progress” button shows that I am making no progress. “Take a Quiz” takes me to a blank screen with just one button labelled “learn more denial techniques”; clicking this brings me back to the home page. “Sign out” is the only button that works as advertised.
