Not worth playing
I love crypto and I love video games. So I figured it was time to start testing out games where I could earn crypto while playing.
I played the full 7 day trial and it was clear that CropBytes is not the game for me. It’s ridiculously boring. And I assure you that I generally like games that other people think are boring. Crunching numbers and figuring out how to be efficient is my joy in gaming. But this game is still just plain boring. I only needed to open the app for about 2-3 minutes each day. After doing 1-3 tasks I was done. There was nothing else I could do even if I wanted to keep playing.
After the free trial ends all the assets they give you to play with are removed. And you are left with a decision. If you want to keep playing you MUST transfer some crypto into the game in order to purchase one of the starter packs. As of today those starter packs range between $25 and $75 US. But crypto is heavily volatile so those amounts could go up or down.
Regardless what you get for even the highest priced pack is only slightly more than what your free trial provided. And the economics of the assets they provide will still leave you short of a viable, stable economy. Which means you’ll have to supplement what you farm is missing each week with more purchases.
So when do you start earning some actual crypto you can transfer back to yourself? Only after you invest several hundred dollars to buy enough assets to create a stable economy. And once you do that then you can enjoy the $1 a day you might earn if you are lucky.
All those 5 star reviews people have left include a referral code. They don’t actually like the game. They just are hoping you use their code so they might be gifted an extra cow or chicken or something.
My search continues for a good crypto game. I strongly recommend avoiding this one.
