Trend following is an investment strategy based on the technical analysis of market prices, rather than on the fundamental strengths of the companies. In financial markets, traders and investors using a trend following strategy believe that prices tend to move upwards or downwards over time.
Contrarian investing - In finance, a contrarian is one who attempts to profit by investing in a manner that differs from the conventional wisdom.
Swing trading (range trading) - A speculative activity in financial markets where a tradable asset is held for between one to several days in an effort to profit from price changes or ‘swings’.
Scalping day trading - Scalpers attempt to act like traditional market makers or specialists. Buy at the Bid price and sell at the Ask price.

Rebate Trading - the act of buying or selling short a stock directly from an Electronic Communications Network (ECN) and receiving a rebate from the ECN for the transaction.
News playing trade- The basic strategy of news playing is to buy a stock which has just announced good news, or short sell on bad news.
Price action trading - Keeping things simple can also be an effective methodology when it comes to trading. There are groups of traders known as price action traders who are a form of technical traders that rely on technical analysis, but do not rely on conventional indicators to point them in the direction of a trade or not.
Candlestick charts - A candlestick chart is a style of financial chart used to describe price movements of a security, derivative, or currency. Each “candlestick” typically shows one day. Candlestick charts are most often used in technical analysis of equity and currency price patterns.
Artificial intelligence – known also as algo trading or e-trading. Is using algorithms and bots to decide where and when to buy and sell a security
Download Day trading costs - Some day trading strategies (including scalping and arbitrage) require relatively sophisticated trading systems and software, Day traders do not usually use market maker brokers or discount brokers because they are slower to execute trades, trade against order flow, and charge higher commissions. Spread and market data are also cost factors.
Commodities trading - use day trading for commodities.
Day trading regulations - Day trading is considered a risky trading style, and regulations require brokerage firms to ask whether the clients understand the risks of day trading and whether they have prior trading experience before entering the market.
