Drops – The Rain Alarm is an iOS app to do with one of the favourite talking points: the weather. More particularly the rain. Its sole task is to let you know when the rain is about to start, albeit with a bit of warning, in your area. Or anywhere else you’d like to know about.
Drops – The Rain Alarm can tell you at a glance exactly when it will rain up to two hours in advance. With down-to-the-minute forecasts, you’ll know exactly when the rain will start or stop, right where you're standing.
What Drops – The Rain Alarm offers you:

Fantastic!
As a dog walker I love this app! I live on the coast of BC, Canada, where winters are ALL about rain. We typically get windows without rain during any day however, unless I am simply waiting around the house watching the weather, it’s hard to plan my day to take advantage of those times.
With this app I can plan when to get out and since owning it, I’ve barely been out in the rain! It seems accurate to within 10-15 mins, depending on the day.
The only thing I’d like to see changed is for the radar and graph to show longer segments. Right now they only display the next two hrs - but I suspect this limitation is due to how the info is provided meteorologically so perhaps this is a limitation that is out of the developers control?
The forecast view does show the next 24 hrs as well as the next 2 weeks so you do have access to the information.
Impressive accuracy and timeliness
This app is the perfect radar app. The atmospheric conditions are very variable in the Netherlands and no hourly forecast is useful. There are several contenders when it comes to minute-by-minute radar forecasts, but none of them matches the accuracy of this one. I’m glad they have made an international version now (their original app is called Buinalarm in Dutch).
