Thank you for considering this App! Functional Vitals is a tool that will lead healthcare or fitness professionals through 5 functional mobility tests for older adults ( greater than 60 years old ). The tests include gait speed, timed up and go, single leg stance, two minute step test and chair stand. The collected data will be compared with established normative values. Tests that assess mobility, balance, strength and cardiovascular endurance are indicators of health/wellness and are tremendously influential in predicting the independence and quality of life for seniors. It is anticipated that by the year 2051, one in four Canadians will be 65 yrs+. We will need new tools and innovative thinking to prepare for this change in demographics. Functional Vitals personalizes the data so that every client will instantly see where they stand across the normative range of age/ sex matched peers. Test results assist in identifying, which components of physical mobility require focused intervention.

Consumers will need to take the initiative to locate local fitness or health professionals to guide them on their journey toward improved functional mobility.
