Pretty useful
While this app is good for reviewing, don’t solely rely on this all to pass.
If you want to do well on the test I really recommend looking through, understanding, and memorizing the signs and rules in the Drivers Handbook. Then when you grasp the information enough, go on practice tests (like this app). Search on google for other practice g1 tests because they’re pretty useful. If you have any questions that you don’t understand, write them down and then later when you’re reviewing, go back to those questions. You should be ready when you take more practice tests and get 90%-100%. That’s what I did and when I took the g1 test today, I got all the road signs right and 3 road rules wrong, aka I passed.
I really recommend reviewing the rules especially the dermit point system, the fines for each driving crime, and also the meters you should distance yourself from other vehicles on the road. Overall, just study everything. The handbook is the best source. If youre pretty confident then, everything else should be common sense. If you come upon a question during the test that you’ve never seen, choose the answer that is the most correct out of the four.
The test is done on a laptop, once you submit your answer for a question, you get to see immediately if it’s right or wrong. If you don’t know the answer, skip it, and go back to it. There’s no time limit so do the other ones carefully, reread the questions, and you should be fine.
P.s. If you’re in Ontario, try not going to the drive test center in Scarborough because I’ve had a really bad experience there. Go to the one in Newmarket instead. The line and wait time is short (~2 hours) and the service workers there are super welcoming. Also make sure to bring the right identification because you don’t want to line up for 5 hours and go home just because you didn’t bring your passport.
I would suggest bringing your passport, health card, student id, and birth certificate. Make sure none of it is expired. If it is (which was my case actually), bring a signed guarantor form and your birth certificate which should be enough. Good luck!
