Gentler Streak is a health and fitness tracker that puts your wellbeing first. It helps find the right balance between exercise and rest. App responds to your readiness and proposes daily workout actions that keep you within healthy activity levels. Rest days are part of the actions that keep the streak going. Download and use Gentler Streak for free. Choose among auto-renewing subscriptions to upgrade to Gentler Streak Premium. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Manage subscription plans and turn off auto-renewal in Account Settings > Manage subscriptions after purchase. If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication.

NEW Gentler Streak for iPad
Following the introduction of Health to iPadOS 17, we are super happy to be making a debut on the platform, breathing life into the newly reachable health information from day dot! The iPad app has an optimized experience on the larger screen and features unique perks: a 30-day Activity Path and revamped workout summaries, the ones shining the brightest.

WatchOS 10
This update nudges user-friendliness up a notch! You will notice the redesigned UI (colourful backgrounds, woop woop), NEW widgets, revamped Go Gentler appearance and newly added cycling metrics - power, cadence, and speed. Remember, to display power and cadence, you need a Bluetooth power meter or cadence sensor. However, the current cycling speed is visible without the additional hardware.

iOS 17
It's all about the widgets! Use the StandBy widgets to monitor a Go Gentler suggestion and/or your current fitness condition at a distance. Start a suggested Go Gentler workout directly from an iPhone's home screen with the help of an interactive widget!
Live activities/in-app mirroring is available from previous versions but still coming in hot.

Fresh New Visuals
The insights section got a visual makeover, creating a more cohesive and engaging experience. Each insight comes with a thumbnail that, upon a tap, unfolds its own little story. While Yorhart takes center stage in most of these stories, we've introduced occasional cameos to keep things fresh and avoid repetition.

Beautiful in every way

I’m so happy to see Gentler Streak win App of the Year, it’s well deserved.

Unlike the default Apple Watch ring closing, which encourages you to move or workout even when you’re sick or overtrained, this app gives you recommendations on when to rest while still maintaining your streak. The specific recommended workouts help provide direction for improving fitness at a sustainable pace.

The annual subscription is very reasonably priced compared to the vast majority of fitness apps that offer you sale prices which are still 2-3x the standard price here.

My one complaint is that the Watch app’s GPS mapping is absolutely bananas. Not even close. Random straight lines through structures that are often blocks away from my actual route. It’s totally unusable if you want GPS data. (And yet it’s still a 5 star app to me, so imagine how great it would be if it had decent GPS, which the Watch is capable of.)

"You Are Overreaching"

I just started using this app a few days ago. I think it has a gorgeous interface (and I love it for that), but it's been consistently telling me that I'm overreaching and to take a rest when I feel fine.

I don't know if it's because I just started using it and it's not calibrated to me or something, but I have a couple of other apps that tell me my training readiness scores (they're both very popular apps), and they've consistently been giving me the green light with high training readiness scores.

I know these apps interpret your data and implement their own algorithms to derive such metrics and that such metrics are largely subjective/made up, so I'm not sure if Gentler Streak is inaccurate or just living up to its name and making more conservative estimates.

I'm going to continue using it and see how things pan out. I'm rating it five stars for now because I just love how pretty it is, and I like the Activity stats broken down by week, month, year, and all-time.

Thank you for such a kind review, even though we seem to be causing some frustration. I am sorry about that.

We want to understand the issues, so we can work towards resolving them. It would be super helpful to hear from you. Could you please send an email to support@gentlerstories.com (if you already have done so, and don't see a reply, please check the Spam/All Mail folders)?

I would like to see your Activity Path, 3 last workout summaries, along with the summary of the workout that was the most intense in the past two weeks (all of them with heart rate charts, please).

A quick word on why you would see overreaching too easily (while feeling OK):
- you are new to tracking activities or have just started using Apple Watch (providing us less than 60 days of info)
- you are coming back from an injury, illness, break (longer than 14 days)
- your active life happens in bursts, and those bursts are usually intense, followed by days of inactivity
- you are new to being regularly active, and are still building your fitness base

If you recognize yourself in any of the 4 groups, guidance should normalize within cca 2 weeks of regular workout data. I would suggest tracking as many activities as possible, since that gives sufficient data to work with, leaving you with an accurate Activity Path.

I am also happy to provide a longer free trial, so you can have a more wholesome experience.

Awesome app

I am absolutely loving this app. I really like Apple’s Workout app, but having to close your rings EVERY SINGLE DAY is really draining. And it SUCKS when you lose your epic streak because you got sick and couldn’t work out. This app feels way nicer and allows you to take rest days, but not so gentle you don’t feel like working out at all. I really like the sick and injured modes, as they allow you to pause your streak until you recover. It feels really good when the app praises you. Highly motivating, would absolutely recommend.
