Amazing buuut...

Love the app and use it often. However, it bugs me that the app is not able to recognize alternative spelling or names for a brand. For example, in order to get info on Yves St-Laurent you need to write “Saint-Laurent”. If you write YSL or St-Laurent or Yves St-Laurent or Yves Saint-Laurent it tells you that the brand hasn’t beed added (which of course is not true).

Interesting with flaws

This app is a very important concept and I strongly want it to do well. (Hence why I’m giving y’all a better review than you deserve for now) Frustratingly it is plagued by two major (to me) problems.
1: it will not accept that I don’t want notifications on my brand research app. Every time I come back in, it asks me to let it send notifications, which I never will do as I feel it doesn’t need them. This functionality makes it difficult to use the app effectively.
2: the search function is very nearly impossible to use. Every search I have sent has resulted in “suggest this brand” when I know full well that the brand is already in the system, making it very difficult to use.

Separately , it might be advisable to allow some sort of crowdsourcing feature for brands you haven’t found time to check yourselves, thus allowing even tiny brands to be checked on. It’s very easy to know what the super super environmentally friendly brands are (these tend towards high price boutiques), but the ones that are very good and affordable to the average person are hard to find and I feel that some form of crowdsourcing feature would make it easier to ensure both the longevity of the app in it’s use past the initial entertainment value of downloading, and also help promote our shared goal of reducing environmental impact as best as one can.

Just some thoughts, keep doing your best. And I strongly appreciate that this app exists. Just, I wish to see it become something sustainably usable in the long term.

this app helps bring to light many issues in our world of fast fashion, and makes it easy to shop ethically and sustainably! Super user friendly and allows you to suggest stores they haven’t rated, and usually post an update in under a month. Everyone should use this!
