Higan: Eruthyll 12+

Less Than Expected

I am familiar with Bilibili’s fine work with Girl Cafe Gun, which I enjoyed.

The story concept seemed interesting, and it is just a different spin on the classic good versus evil with the good being the underdog at the start.

However, Higan: Eruthyll did not impress me. Maybe I did not use the highest setting for graphics, but the cut scenes felt dated in quality with dialogues and character gestures that did not capture my attention.

The interface feels clunky and unintuitive. The autoplay option to run multiple different battles in series is potentially great, but I find it difficult to set up to make it work.

There is a general feeling of too much fluff in the character designs with way too many little boy/girl characters trying to be cute in a game that is on the darker side in my opinion. I find improving intimacy or relationship with the little boys and girls in the game seemed somewhat disturbing as an adult, but I can see the developer wanting to attract broader demographics to the game.

The game has all the standard play options seen in other games of the genre making it average. There are seemingly lots of freebies for F2P players, which unfortunately does not help much with the obvious pay walls every 10-20 characters levels.

The combat is okay but expect game difficulty to increase rapidly, which I believe is part of the pay wall, and grinding (or paying) is expected very early on. The camera views are suboptimal, and I find it diffuse to see my entire team unless they are clustered together, which makes me susceptible to AoE attacks.

Overall, I find this game just okay.

Its hard to grind

The game has an complicated but fun storyline and the graphics are really good no doubt they have interesting characters but the ONE major problem:patience to fully ascend one character u need 15pc of purple mat another 15pcs pf purple mat and 36pcs of elemental mats the game wants you to stay long the eitr (currency used to be able to grind) really limited u nees to wait days for daily commissions for this game other than that cook game but pls fix eitr shortage even with dubriostal its hard to get eitr

But I will add one star because it’s a new game. Is there a reason in the story for why males are almost extinct? I don’t know since the story was so boring and poorly translated that I skipped the whole thing. Energy system and levelling feels awful. Takes forever to get the materials to ascend and level one character above lv.50. Gameplay looks and feels okay but is quite basic. I will give them credit for giving so many pulls just for completing level instances. You can easily get 4-5+ SSRs before you get to lv.50. But I have a feeling that’s gonna slow down once you don’t have so many new levels to complete. Plus, I’m not really motivated to level any of the characters I have. All I wanted was Basell, the only male character that was not designed with the graphic designer’s feet. Did not get him. I’m done. Gonna try P:GR instead and H:SR when it comes out, at least they’re not scared of a little testosterone.
