Edit many tracks side-by-side, mix them together, and export to Wave or MP4 format — then transfer them to your computer, send them to another app on your device, or upload to cloud services.
Hokusai is streamlined to give you a clean, clear view of your tracks. Use the familiar pinch and swipe gestures to zoom right in and fiddle with fine detail, or step back to see the big picture. Select pieces of audio. Live "scrubbing" means you can hear the sound under your fingertip as you make your adjustments. And you needn't fear a bad edit with our full undo/redo support — even after closing your project.
Hokusai comes free with a set of useful tools such as fade in/out, normalise volume levels, reverse time, and basic synthesis. If you need more power, you can upgrade from inside the app to add new tools and effects, including: Per-track volume/mute/panning, selecting across multiple tracks at once, presets and favourites, grain synthesis, noise gating, time-stretching, pitch-bending, echo, reverb, modulation (AM & FM), resonance, distortion, grunge, vocal levelling, monster voice, high/low/band-pass/notch-cut filter and more — many of which can be previewed live.

Good app
This is a good app if you want to edit audio on your phone. I bought pro and it is like having a more portable version of audible.
It’s over all good but it has its problems.
When copying and pasting, it takes up unnecessary amount storage.
I pasted a 5 second audio clip and it took up 299mb on my phone. This adds up and a min can eat up around 2GB on your phone. I don’t know how to fix this.
So other than that, it’s good but requires lots of space to function.

Hello! Audio files can take up a lot of space, and Hokusai is designed for highly detailed editing of small pieces of audio, so it uses a high-quality format to store the audio, to preserve the best quality while editing. If you don’t need this, or are editing very long pieces of audio, you might find one of our other apps, Ferrite Recording Studio, a better match for your needs. That said, the format used by Hokusai takes (very approximately) 1GB per hour for mono, 2GB per hour for stereo. If you’re seeing 2GB per minute, please contact Customer Support using the link inside the tools menu so that we can investigate why. Thanks!

Ver. 2.1.6 shutting down
I am on iphone 6, ios 9.0.2 it work fine on ver. 2.1.1 went upgrade to ver. 2.1.6 the app. keeps shutting down

Just a heads-up though, the version of iOS you're using on your iPhone is more than 30 versions out-of-date — we do try to maintain compatibility with older iOS versions, but future updates may not support versions of iOS that far back.
