Useful but buggy

There’s lots of useful information and functionality in this app but it needs a thorough testing. Recently all of my thermostats disappeared for over a week. There was no notification that it was a known issue so I was trying to troubleshoot it myself.

In the Advisor, you dismiss cards and they come back over and over. For example, I get an “Always On” message every single day.

In the main page, my budget displays correctly, but on all of my usage notifications and advisor cards, I show over budget, every single day. Sometimes I show a day that is over budget early in the week and by the time we get to the end of the week, it’s not anymore. The budget should be a simple, consistent, daily number.

How did BC Hydro get mixed up with this?

The developer, Insight Energy Ventures operates out of this building at 333 W 7th St, Royal Oak, MI. Google map that address and ask yourself how legitimate they seem.

The hub they provide is useless and needs to be within 10’ of your electrical meter. The devices Hydro sells can be picked up on Amazon for a 1/3 less, and the list goes on.

At the end of the day, it appears BC Hydro has white labeled a terrible product and is peddling it on unsuspecting British Columbians, and we need to ask ourselves is this what a Crown corporation should be doing?

Buggy

It worked for a while but it has since lost connection to both the smart meter and the internet. I tried to follow the instructions but can never get it to sync again.
