The Omega borescope does not work with iPhone 6 nor iPad touch. It works okay with my outdated iPhone 4. I've kept the 4 around to us as a screen. Better off buying a borescope with a built in screen.
Not one of Omega Engineerings better products.
Not working with iPad 2
The actual bore scope seems well made although the screw for the battery cover is RIDICULOUSLY small and totally unnecessary. I can't imagine anyone in the field having a jeweler's Phillips screwdriver to remove it, either.
My biggest complaint is the app does not connect to the camera, which means the device is unusable. My iPad 2 readily connects to the ad hoc wifi network broadcast by the scope but when I run the app, it says it can't connect to the camera!
The fine print says the device works with a long list of iPhone models and "iPad," which I assume means more than just the original model but maybe I'm wrong.
App For iPad
If you have the General Tools Borescope from Lee Valley Tools and are trying to get the unit to work with an iPad, you have to change the filter on the App Store page to "iPhone Only" before searching for the iBorescope app. The correct app will then appear (iBorescope3), and can be installed.
The app is a little clunky, but overall the unit does what its supposed to do reasonably well.
