Great!

Good for safari but doesn’t really work for in-app ads like youtube and others.

Question for the developers; is there a way to setup the app to block in-app ads? I’m using the pro version in full tunnel mode. Thanks.

Update Xmas day 2019: Great local VPN ad blocker. It works fine for 90% of cases. 4/5 stars because the app will crash when there are too many block requests. For example, I cannot use it with google news; the vpn is constantly crashing and restarting. It doesn’t block youtube ads, but I don’t blame the vpn. Google’s youtube ads are likely not blockable on an iOS VPN. I’m not an expert though.

Hello!

You need to set up AdGuard DNS manually (176.103.130.130; 176.103.130.131) to block ads in apps. In some cases ads are loaded from the main domains, so those domains can't be blocked. (youtube, instagram, fb, twitter apps).

upd: Hi again! Did you try new AdGuard v2.0.2? How it goes?

By far the best one out there!

This app has really impressed me. The free version I was using for a long time offers great functionality and the high level of quality and performance made it an easy decision to upgrade to the pro version.

I really respect their business model of offering a free, uncrippled functional product and having it prove itself worthy of buying.

The multiple filters feature is really nice but privacy concerns...

It blocks 95% of ads and the anti-disable adblock mechanism works well.

However, i hope someone can explain whether is it the same policy for iOS content blocker as the extension found on the mac App store regarding privacy/access to browsing history.

The mac safari extension has two additional components: the adguard icon and advanced blocking, both of them can access sensitive information if enabled (according to apple). The remaining 6 components: social, privacy, other, ... do not have ANY permission to data access web page i visited. And so I’m only comfortable using those 6 only.

However, settings for iOS safari content blocker says it differently, “....content blockers can’t send any info about what was blocked back to the app”. Although there’s no adguard icon or any other components asking for access, does that mean the same thing like on the mac version, where adguard just tell safari what to block and can’t access my private browsing data (like adguard icon on mac)?
