Why must you track my browsing history?

I’d like to activate the app but it is asking me to allow it to view my browsing history, and I don’t really see why that’s necessary for an app that just makes the screen dark.

Developer Response ,

Dear user,
Actually, all your Safari extensions will have the same description there, this is the standard. You can download other extensions from the App Store and you will see that the same label will appear. Back to my app: the extension can access your webpage just to be able to make its job/features, but the extension is not collecting any information, is not accessing any information from your browser, it’s not monitoring anything or sending data over the Internet in any way. It's very safe. The only reason the label is there is because the extension must access your loaded webpage in order to make its job. Also, it's reviewed and tested by Apple in order to enter the App Store and they do not allow apps or extensions that collect information about you.
You can also review the privacy terms from here (the In a Nutshell section is enough): https://alexdenk.eu/privacy-safari-extensions.html So keep using the extension with confidence.

“OK” at best

Safari Auto Translate extension:
The extension has bugs and it’s really annoying. Every time I open a page that isn’t in English, it doesn’t automatically translate it at all (yes, I have set it to auto translate to English in the settings). I have to go in the browsers extension and press “Translate page now” to force it. What is the purpose of buying this extension if it doesn’t do it’s job?

Safari Dark Mode extension:
This extension is even more annoying 🤦‍♂️
1. If you select “ignore entire website” for a specific website to not have Dark Mode, it still set it to dark mode if you click a page on that website.
2. The Dark Mode doesn’t switch the websites words to white, in turn I can read anything and have to revert back to no dark mode. Again, what’s the purpose of me buying this app if it can’t do its job.

Overall I rate these extension 0 out of 100, don’t waste your money. In fact, I want my money back.

Developer Response ,

Dear user, Thank you for your review, I’m taking notes of all of them. The extension works very well for most of the websites out there in the wild. But if you have some websites that are not perfect, Dark Mode can offer some options: you can either add the site to the ignore list, or you can choose what sites Dark Mode to run on (only the sites that are rendered perfectly). If you have any questions, please write me to hello@alexdenk.eu and for sure I can assist you in any matter. Regards.

Almost completely useless

Not only do you need to click “change to dark” on every page (not website, every page), but if you click a link on said page, then return to it, it’s back to white again.

If you somehow have to often read very long texts on the same website PAGE, might be mildly useful.

For the rest of us who browse, when using our browsers, it’s completely useless.

The fact they charge for this app, in its current state, is hard to comprehend.

Developer Response ,

Dear user,Thank you for your review, I'm taking notes of all of them. The extension will run automatically on all pages and websites, on every refresh starting with iOS 15, since iOS 15 enables this kind of extensions. You can also send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and I will gladly provide you with more details.Regards
