Helpful + Pleasant Interface
Great for outfit planning and finding new ways to style pieces to get more use out of them.
I’m using the free version (thanks for providing a free option btw!) and it does pretty much everything I would need to. I actually REALLY enjoy putting outfits together and meticulously planning how to pack for trips. I would spend hours in photoshop doing this in the past, and this infinitely speeds that process up.
Minor feedback: having more precise garment sub-categories could be super helpful for those who have larger closets. For example: maxi, midi, and mini length for dresses and skirts; leggings (yes I style them a lot! I work from home and like incorporating them into WFH looks); crop tops; and potentially even having a way to mark tops as long sleeve, quarter, short or sleeveless.
Unworkable, impossible to get started
This app has a clean modern look and lots of influencers pushing it, but that’s where the positives end. The app isn’t user friendly and it takes forever to get started with cataloguing your wardrobe on here compared to other apps.
Every single item that you to upload needs a selection for brand, category, colour, size (why do the developers need this much information from you when it’s not even used to suggest outfits or show stats?) and there is no way to skip adding that info into the app. Other apps out there use AI to automatically select categories and colours as you upload items. I wanted to bulk upload my photos but it’s impossible to do that with Indyx since you can’t leave these fields blank.
Despite gathering all this info, the app can’t calculate basic closet stats like cost per wear. Future plans include an in-app marketplace but with the user base so small I can’t imagine anyone asked for or will use this feature.
Almost everyone I’ve seen promoting the app has been an influencer who had someone from the company meet them in person so catalogue their wardrobe for them. That’s likely because of how tedious the process is for the average person, to the point whether it’s prohibitive to getting started with this app.
The final straw for me is that that the developers also don’t respond to questions or feedback unless you’re an influencer (I asked a question on social media that’s been unanswered for weeks now).
Cure compulsive online shopping with this app!
I can spend hours creating outfits from my existing clothes. I’m so inspired to flex my creative muscles to style my clothes in new ways.
With a bit of time investment upfront to catalogue your wardrobe, this app helps you see what clothes you have and what you actually wear. I’ve used it to pinpoint gaps in my closet but mostly to deter myself from buying something when I already own an item that is similar, or with the knowledge that I probably won’t get the cost per a wear to make it worth it.
10/10 recommend.
