Description

The iPelvis mobile application

Join the iPelvis community and have fun exercising for the pelvic floor in a healthy way, celebrate with points and achievements received by completing each exercise and share your ranking with friends and family. Come and you will also accompany us on this journey.

This application is NOT a treatment on its own and surely does not intend to replace a medical treatment or physical therapy, but it serves mainly in a unique way to support relevant health professionals to select those exercises that are useful for their patients as a home maintenance program, and to provide explanatory movies and protocols universally recognized as the optimal exercise programs in the world.

We advise to go to your doctor to know more about your pelvic floor dysfunction and also talk with your physical therapist before starting a program with iPelvis. More you know about your pelvic floor better it will be your exercises program.

Pelvic floor muscle exercises are neither dangerous nor harmful to health, the most important medical societies consider these as the first-line treatment in case of well-constructed. Part of this is optimal patient selection who will benefit of pelvic floor muscle exercises. The best way to know which phase or exercises is the most convenient for you is first to do a pelvic floor evaluation with your doctor and a pelvic physiotherapist.

All the exercises in this app were revised by the experts in pelvic physiotherapy and Maura Seleme PT - PhD and Bary Berghmans PT - PhD. All exercises are based on evidence and approved for many scientific articles that explain pelvic floor exercises is the first option when well indicated.

The iPelvis concept and program includes:
1. Start using the m-App after an evaluation with the doctor and the physiotherapeutic assessment, (Berghmans et al 2021). Analysing and evaluating the data of the assessment allows doctors and physiotherapists to understand how and when and to what extent to use iPelvis to support adherence and motivation of the patient to perform PFMT.
2. An evolutionary sequence of PFMT consisting of 10 phases.
3. This m-App and its innovative concept have several published articles that demonstrate its usefulness and effect.
4. The Pelvic floor muscle exercises in this app are neither dangerous nor harmful to health BUT always is better to go your doctor and pelvic physiotherapist before starting the exercises
5. The app is Evidence-Based Pelvic PFMT. Every part has made produced on evidence-based materials coming from high standard scientific research performed by authors from all over the world, including dr. Maura Seleme and key-note health care Associate Professor Bary Berghmans.
6. Pelvic floor exercises based on the 5Fs concept (Berghmans, Seleme 2017), in a logical sequence find, feel, force, follow-through and functional training.
