GPS is only used to detect your location when you're at the gas station and send a reminding notification to save fill-up data. Use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.

Version 1.4
Long time no see. We updated Jerrycan with many long-awaited improvements:
- iOS 14 support;
- Optimized for X screen sizes;
- Added a 3-rd decimal place to support US gallon prices accurately;
- Exterminated Facebook and Google tracking services;
- Removed bluish tint for a better look on OLED displays;
- Deprecated Vinli OBD device support.
We also fixed multiple pretty annoying bugs:
- Repaired export of .jerrycan database files;
- Improved import and parsing .CSV files;
- Corrected location monitoring and push notifications when you are refueling;
- Repaired ability to pick an image of your car;
- Fixed dozens of bugs accumulated with iOS upgrades.

Ratings and Reviews
Looks nice, but poor usability
This app has a very polished UI, but in practice the UI suffers from usability issues:
- The sliders used to enter the odometer readings, fuel volume, and price look cool, but are cumbersome to use. You end up scrolling the sliders an excessive amount. A plain numeric-entry keypad UI would be far more efficient.
- The price and fuel volume entry is not accurate enough to match my receipts. Fuel prices in Canada have fractional cents (e.g. $0.559/litre), but Jerrycan only allows entry to the nearest cent. Similarly for fuel volume. The result is that the totals reported by Jerrycan don’t match the totals on my receipt.
I wanted to import my past fuel consumption, but the CSV import did not function. I contacted support to resolve the issue, but received no response.
To much missing
Does not allow for 3 decimal places for either the price of fuel or quantity of fuel. Which causes big discrepancies in data.
Does not allow for the address of the fill station to be typed in. If you don’t open the app at the station, at the time of your fill up, you have to search the map for the fill station.
Does not allow you to type in numbers for mileage, or fill information, you have to use the sliding scales.
The app gives you the ability to choose your vehicle but does not support all models. For example 2014 Ram Ecodiesel is not supported.
GreT App!!!
Love the App so far. Would like however to have an extra decimal point for the fuel amount to make more accurate. Also find the sliding gauge between city and highway a bit too touchy and difficult to record what you want. Otherwise, great App!
