Connect by Lifeguard 4+

Connect is a life-saving app that links users to mental health and substance use resources. Connect is all-encompassing and helpful for anyone seeking to improve their mental health.

Key features include:

PEER-TO-PEER CHAT
Connect with like-minded individuals through Connect’s private and encrypted chat function. This is an optional feature that requires both parties to opt-in before a conversation can begin. Conversations are only visible to the two participants.

GOOD NEWS NEWSFEED
Share and read uplifting updates. Celebrate sobriety milestones, share positive messages, discover community events, and stay protected with toxic substance warnings.

PROFILE CUSTOMIZATION
Customize Connect experience by choosing a display name (optional), avatar, and selecting which alerts create notifications.

USE ALONE TIMER
Stay protected during substance use. App users can begin the timer prior to consumption and reset the timer when they are safe. If they become unresponsive, paramedics will be automatically alerted.

Connect was developed in collaboration with British Columbia Emergency Health Services and Provincial Health Services of British Columbia, enabled by the British Columba Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions. Connect is intended for use within British Columbia and Ontario. Select features may not be available, accessible, or functional outside of British Columbia and Ontario. PRIVACY & SECURITY
No personally identifiable information is collected through Connect. Aggregated data, such as the number of users in a particular city, is anonymous. Lifeguard Digital Health cannot see any personal information, and the anonymized data is not available or sold to any other person, entity, government department, or service.

Connect is compliant with all industry privacy practices and regulations and meets the highest global standards.

When emergency services are contacted through Connect, associated call details are erased from the app once paramedics are dispatched. Personal data is neither collected nor retained by Lifeguard Digital Health.

In the event of a timer alert, only emergency services will gain access to user data, such as their current location. Data is anonymized and used for informing regional public health prevention response parties.
