Use Alone Timer:
Stay protected during substance use. App users can begin the timer before consumption and reset it when they are safe. If they become unresponsive, paramedics will be automatically alerted.
Drug Alerts and Notifications:
Get up-to-date details about toxic drugs and important information in your area directly to your phone. Turn on the push notifications for instant updates, or check the app for the most recent alerts.
Services Near Me:
Find services in your area and get location details, hours, contact numbers and more. Filter and search by type of service to find what you need the most such as supervised consumption sites, health clinics, harm reduction supplies and more.
Resources:
Be connected with the most important mental health and substance use resources at the click of a button. LifeguardConnect™ is the centralized place to find access to helplines, chats, education resources, and emergency support.
LifeguardConnect™ was developed in collaboration with British Columbia Emergency Health Services and Provincial Health Services of British Columbia, enabled by the British Columba Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions. LifeguardConnect is intended for use within British Columbia and Ontario. Select features may not be available, accessible, or functional outside of British Columbia and Ontario. Privacy & Security:
No personally identifiable information is collected through LifeguardConnect™. Aggregated data, such as the number of users in a particular city, is anonymous. Lifeguard Digital Health cannot see any personal information, and the anonymized data is not available or sold to any other person, entity, government department, or service.
LifeguardConnect™ is compliant with all industry privacy practices and regulations and meets the highest global standards.
When emergency services are contacted through LifeguardConnect™, associated call details are erased from the app once paramedics are dispatched. Personal data is neither collected nor retained by Lifeguard Digital Health.
In the event of a timer alert, only emergency services will gain access to user data, such as their current location. Data is anonymized and used for informing regional public health prevention response parties.

To receive the confirmation code without a cell phone plan download “text free” in the App Store… I wish that this app didn’t need a confirmation code because a majority of the people that really need this app, do not have cell phone plans . So I hope this post helps awesome people out there that want to use this app but can’t because they don’t have a cell phone plan . <3

Hi PD. You make a great point! As of right now, emergency services require that we validate users by using a phone number. This ensures that dispatchers are not overloaded with spam callers and that emergency services can attempt to call app users back if the timer alert is triggered. However, we’re always looking for ways to make Lifeguard more accessible, so your feedback is appreciated!

Helpful app but the timer shouldn’t make me fill out all the stuff I’ve already filled out every time i use or reset the timer plus when I’m high on fentynal I have the energy to redo all that when I wanna reset the timer

Saw an ad for this app at Starbucks, quit using over a month ago and always carry my naloxone but just to have something there in case I’m using alone is great. Would be wonderful to see other drugs like GHB added to the list, or benzodiazepines. We need more steps like this toward harm reduction instead of stigma. Download this even if you’re not a user.
