MIDI Guitar is the World’s first app to transcribe guitar playing into MIDI in real-time, with latency and accuracy comparable to expensive and inconvenient hardware MIDI guitar solutions.

MIDI Guitar is over 10 years in development(!) and based upon state-of-the-art polyphonic pitch detection and –prediction technology that can accurately recognize guitar playing and -articulation with very low latency and without spurious hits. The technology has been validated by thousands of guitarists over the years.

MIDI Guitar comes as AudioUnit plugin (AUv3) and as a standalone app which can host other iOS synth apps or send virtual midi to Garageband or other DAWs.

You need a guitar interface for best results. We recommend a digital interface (using the lightning connector) over analog (via headphone jack), preferably with input gain control. Using an acoustic guitar with the built in microphone works for some purposes but is not optimal.

The free version will interrupt every few minutes, asking you to buy an in-app purchase.

If you have problems please refer to the website: www.jamorigin.com/docs or the user forum: jamosapien.com.

Midi guitar rocks

I have tried every guitar synth related tool for the past 25 years and this is one of the most amazing! You can successfully take a regular guitar and use it as a almost perfectly tracking synth guitar with no special pickup, from iPad! I absolutely love how I can do this with my old guitars that I did not wish to mount pickups on... Even steel string acoustics work! Some soft synths in iPad will respond to the messages sent from midi guitar app better than others such as "sunrizer" or "thumbjam" which I could not even previously run with a midi controller! There are others which do not like what it sees from the program such as "alchemy" or nanostudio... But that is the problem of those programs currently not midi guitar. I have not tried running Via wifi yet, just direct using a line6 mobile in guitar plug. I love the portability of using an iPad, though compatible synths at the moment are a bit limited. I would love future plugins for my computer to run in cubase in a desktop situation which does the same thing too! I do have many older synth racks yet to try as well... And I would love to find a way to patch direct into them rather than through the computer and introducing latency. Anyway, great results when it works well. Midi guitar is the future of guitar synth!

BAD

I purchased midi guitar 2 the full version from the App Store in December 2020 and had no time to use it then, it’s now January 25 2021 ,I try to load the app on my iPad 11 pro, and it simply crashes and just won’t load.I’m very disappointed.
Pls do something about it cause it wasn’t cheap for me.

Not a fan_01 ,

Cost is too high

Buyer beware. In order to get this working in any daw it requires the purchase of all 3 in app purchases for a whopping $56 CA. Not worth it.
