Great tool for reinforcing CBT concepts
I’ve found this app super helpful for smoothly integrating CBT into my daily life, something I was finding very difficult. It’s obvious the app was designed with input from experienced psychologists as it incorporates clinical research in a very intelligent way.
The thought checker is great for specific moments where my mood dips due to a harmful thought/feeling, and the mood chart is great for practicing “noting” how I’m feeling. Overall, the app gives me confidence and comfort in dealing with my mental health, and makes my progress feel easier.
A couple of main improvements I would love to see:
-the thought checker could benefit from more integration within the app (eg ability to compare thoughts with past entries, maybe through use of tags) and more ways to view the data (eg avg % improvement for each entry)
-likewise, the mood chart is a brilliant idea but isn’t very useful in one-week chunks. It would be a lot more useful if one could “zoom out” and look at data over course of past month, year, etc, an improvement which I’m sure has been discussed!
-I wonder if adding a tagging feature to the app would take it to the next level —> all thoughts and feelings categorized so one can identify potentially crucial patterns in thoughts/emotions/life events
Again, overall I’ve really benefitted from using the app, thanks so much for providing this awesome tool to everyone.
This app may or may not be good, but it involves a lot of writing. Why do app developers, knowing that iPad Pros have been released, not have the option to use the app in landscape or portrait? I want to type all of those words, not tap with a few fingers to journal and more. It’s too bad that you don’t seriously consider the users of your app.
Very effective tool for CBT
Overall, the app is very well designed to help one track and modify their way of thinking over time. It also offers wisdom in many areas of life such as work, relationships, health, etc. Strongly recommended to anyone who is looking to reduce anxiety and increase their level of optimism.
There is potential for this app to continue to grow in other areas. For example, it could be interesting for the developers to pursue a greater focus on mindfulness meditation as a complement to what already exists.
