Noteshelf - 2 4+

After trying Notabiity and Goodnotes, I still wasn't completely happy with either of them: Notability's filing system is too basic and Goodnotes lacks audio, but has a better filing system. I downloaded Noteshelf as it seems to be a compromise between the two major notetaking players. Have been very happy with this app. The ipad app makes my handwriting look amazing, and it also has an audio feature, customizable notebook covers and add your own templates. The Mac app is very useful for quickly importing pdfs from Mac's Finder into Noteshelf. I like the apps ability to pin favorite pdfs/notebooks, and create tags for individual pages. If the developers keep working on improving the app, it should become a five-star app very soon!

Using Noteshelf on my iPad is great, but is still lacking a bit on the Mac. When I highlight items on the iPad, the highlights shift and don't line up anymore when viewing on my Mac.
Love that you can password protect notes, and do a custom sort, which you can't do in GoodNotes, just hoping that the Mac app keeps improving to properly sync with the iPad version.

I have been using NoteShelf for 3 years now on my iPad which has been an adequate experience. Better organization of the folders allowing you to create subgroups within a folder would greatly enhance the general flow and organization of the app. Furthermore, adding in gestures for switching between tools (3 finger tap to switch to eraser) would make the app much more efficient. Finally, I downloaded the MacBook version so I could have all my files shared across the two platforms with ease and it simply doesn’t work. The files show up on my Mac however they are grey. When I press to download/open a file a circle appears on the file for about 30 seconds, disappears, and then ... nothing. quite disappointed with this as I have now paid for something that simply does not work.
