(OLD) Warhammer 40,000:The App 12+

The good :
The App looks great.
Codex information is available for any factions that have not received a codex update to 9th edition.
Includes all rules for relics, abilities, stratagems, etc. (AoS app take notice)
Selecting Unit options is clearly laid out and easy to understand.
Provides errors to your army build.
Visual explanations paired with written instructions makes it easy to understand.

The bad:
Crashes when scrolling down on certain unit data sheets (Tau for example). A small bug but one that makes the app basically useless.
There is no filtering for selected and unselected unit options, so while referencing the data sheets mid game, you will have to scroll through all of the possible rules for that specific unit instead of the relevant rules you have selected for that unit during list building. Which puts this app far below its competitors it terms of convenience and means you would be better off just using one of the third party free apps on the market.

Conclusion:
Calling this a Wargaming App is like calling a broken piece of glass a kitchen knife. It’s clearly not, but you can pretend it is and sort of use it.
The app is necessary for Games Workshop to produce, in fact I am amazed that it took until 2020 for them to get on the app bandwagon. They try to market the app as innovative and exciting and while it is flashy (just like their marketing) it ultimately falls short on every critical function that a table top war gaming app should have. Honestly, you should get the app, try it for yourself and see how you can integrate it into your gaming experience. However, do not pay for it, as it’s erroneous monthly charge is almost the cost of some streaming services. Then go get one of the better functioning, better developed and less costly third party apps for actually playing the game. Once again GW has produced a half finished, poorly made product that fails spectacularly leaving us to pick at its bones like low hive scavengers.

The army builder should be free

I subscribed to the app when I first downloaded it. Since then, I have been unable to get into the subscribed app I paid for. It won’t even allow me to restore my purchase, and I’ve already received a confirmation e-mail stating my subscription was approved. Very unhappy with an app I’m paying for, but can’t even use.
