Fridge Buddy is the app that helps you monitor the expiration dates of your food items to cut down on waste. Stop throwing away food and save money with our smart notifications.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
SCAN: Start by scanning the barcode and expiration date of your items in your refrigerator, freezer, or cupboards. Fridge Buddy retrieves product-related information, including the name, photo, and pre-filled expiration date.
RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS: A few days before expiration (customizable interval), you'll receive a notification reminding you to consume the product.

- Fixed a bug that remove the expiration date of a product when marking it as consumed or trashed.
- Fixed a bug that prevent from finding the products detail for some products. You should get way more pre-filled products after scanning barcode.

Very helpful
I like being able to create “lists” so that I know what’s in the freezer and what’s in the pantry. I’d like to be able to override the expiry date so that items are not automatically removed from a list. Many items are very useable well past their “best before” or even “expiry” dates. I don’t like wasting food, or money for that matter.
Has the potential to be so much more
I realize this app is probably just a one person show and currently has its limitations. From what I understand of the app so far from using it - it’s sufficient for what it is but it has the potential to be amazing.
It would be great if items stayed in a library so you could add them back when you buy them or make them again. As it is once they expire you have to retake the photo and add back the description and expiry information. I can’t possibly imagine doing this for everything in my fridge, pantry and freezer every time they expire or are consumed. Especially with items that expire faster. (Maybe I’m missing something?)
It would also great if when you scan the UPC label of items the information was automatically populated or you were given the opportunity to add it to a database (like MyFitnessPal). As it is you scan the item and only an image is added which doesn’t save a tremendous amount of time.
Looking forward to seeing how it evolves over time.

Was hoping this might be handy. The scan function does not work at all. If it did a walk through of the functions would be helpful.
