Decreasing accessibility for profit
i’m ngl this is one of the only apps i’ve ever left a review for, but i really feel like i have to.
PDB is really such a good concept. Like, I ADORE the website. I love it to bits. I love the fact that it exists. So, as a huge fan and an avid user, I feel I should say my thoughts:
I’m so close to deleting the app and abandoning ship.
The state of PDB has gotten a bit depressing over the past year, for a few reasons, but the main one is accessibility.
The fact that in order to open a PDB profile, I am met with an ad that takes up the entirety of the screen, one which needs to stay there at least 5 seconds (but usually more; many of the ads have shady ways of hiding the X button) is really disheartening. I’m okay with ads, but is there no way to incorporate them less intrusively? And the fact that I cannot even ACCESS using the safari browsers version of it due to it telling me to get the app and not letting me proceed further, is sort of ridiculous.
I’ve been using the site regularly for nearly 3 years now, and was initially really excited for its growth, but again, i’m really close to just not using it anymore. It’s really sad, how the app has become.
