Thanks for the kind feedback! Personal Best Pro comes with a swathe of alternate app icons you can choose from, and if you still don't like any of them drop me an email and I'll see what I can do.

App was designed with care and it shows. I also like the little humorous touches sprinkled around the app. The only minus is that some screens can feel janky when there’s too much data. Will happily update the review when this gets addressed.

I’m going through each screen currently and optimising them. I’ve done about half of them already, so it won’t be long until every screen is buttery smooth!

Tired of developers taking prisoners. Recently found a fitness app that has a one time $10 purchase. That’s how it’s done.

Edit responding to dev: Ok. Perhaps I was a bit harsh. It’s a general sentiment shared by many regarding the app store. Subscription model is death by a thousand cuts…. it’s gone too far. It should be appropriately reserved for apps that provide an actual ongoing service. Apple needs to allow devs to push for paid upgrades. It’s the only solution out of this mess.

'Taking prisoners' is a bit strong, no? You're not being held hostage – the free version of PB comes with a good amount of features, and the Pro version is for those who want a bit more. The app isn't pushy or spammy about wanting people to upgrade, either.

I appreciate if subscriptions aren't for you, but it's simply not possible to run a business with only a small one-time purchase. iOS updates come along that break things, new platforms appear, and new APIs become available, and users rightfully expect that their apps will be regularly updated for these. It's impossible to put in this level of effort with a one-time purchase. The reality as a consumer is that you can have a subscription, or you can have an app that goes away within a year because it's not viable for the developer to keep updating it for free.

I'm not a greedy corporation trying to turn the screws to increase shareholder profit, I'm a solo developer trying to build a small business, and one-star reviews like this really hurt, in both an emotional sense and a business one :'(
