English spelling has not become easier in the last 1,000 years. In fact, it is quite the opposite. To counteract this digression most languages update their spelling from time to time, but for English it has been 600 years. Our Qikit update follows the design of the Phoenicians. They didn’t provide the first writing, but they provided the first alphabet for writing 3,000 years ago. Their alphabet's important innovation was its phonetic nature, in which they had one symbol for each sound, and thus, with only a few dozen symbols to learn you could write any language. Even common people could write. Their trade in the Mediterranean dealt with many languages and their spelling became the beginnings of Greek and Latin. A letter for each sound is the simplest spelling in the world today.

This app provides texting in either Qikit or traditional English and provides suggestions in both languages from our 62,000-word dictionary.

We don't influence the spoken word; we just spell the words as they sound to eliminate ambiguity.
