Qtrade Guided Portfolio 4+

VirtualWealth has a poor user interface that only updates once per day. Hardly no information about how your account is doing. ETFs are just purchased and left there. You can easily do this yourself and not have to pay any fees. Transfer fees are ridiculously expensive to try to keep you trapped with them. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Just use Wealthsimple.

In general I do like this app and I’m happy that VirtualWeath has finally taken the time to create it. I think the app is organized well. I can view all the information I’d expect about my portfolio such as the performance graph, my portfolio holdings, and account activity. I can fund my account through the app and access customer service. Hopefully document uploads come soon.

A few issues of note:
When I open the FAQ, the sheet view that pops up doesn’t appear to have any way to close it? I try to swipe down to close the view but it doesn’t work.

As for the account activity page, it appears there’s something wrong with the scroll view. As I scroll downwards some activity is cut off, so I try to scroll further and all of a sudden another scroll view instantiates to view the rest? Regardless it’s somewhat clunky and should be fixed. Also it would probably be a good idea to provide detail around what the initialism means in the collapsible view for the activity item. I.e. I know that MMF stands for Money Management Fee but that may not be clear to all, so including a description of the item in that view would help.

On the portfolio screen, under the chart view, the rotate button doesn’t work? Or is it supposed to denote that I should rotate my device to see the chart in landscape? Either or, neither do anything.

The final issue of note is that the navigation bar at the top of the application doesn’t have enough margin. So on an iPhone with a notch its too close to the status bar clear zone and the edge of the safe area. This in turn makes it incredibly difficult to use the controls, such as the back button, or to tap on features like the information button.

As for an additional feature, I would like the option to view my statements and account notifications.

In general though, I do like the app and it provides an easy way to complete most use cases I would have for it, such as adding money or viewing my portfolio performance. However, some work is needed to make it even better!
