Good Basic Unzipper
I don't compress files myself, but occasionally need to open compressed files sent to me, so an unzipper is all I need. Tried out a few other free unzippers and had problems with all of them. Just installed Rar Lite. It's easy to use and seems to work fine for my purposes.

Works for me.
It opened .rar and .zip files for me without problems or crashes. When you click on an .rar file the program opens a new window with the same files in it and they are greyed out but all you need to do at that point is hit the Open button at the bottom and it starts a small status window and unpacks the desired file.
