This app has been such an amazing tool! Absolutely love the clean interface. Please bring this app to android so that I can onboard other family members and friends. Please also add a checkbox feature so we can check off ingredients as we are making a recipe. The sharing recipe feature is also very nice. Overall 10/10 app!
Disappointing shift to paid features
LailaMTOngg
I’m really disappointed with how this app has changed.I originally chose Recipe Notes because it was advertised as completely free, with no subscriptions or hidden limits. It worked well, and I invested time organizing my recipes into multiple categories. Then after reorganizing (deleting some categories and trying to create new ones), I suddenly hit a restriction: I can’t create more categories unless I pay for a subscription. This feels misleading. The app was clearly promoted as having “no premium tiers” and being “100% free”, yet now important features like categories are locked behind a paywall. Other users are reporting the same issue — for example, the free version now appears to allow only a very limited number of categories (2), which defeats the purpose of organizing recipes properly. I understand developers need to make money, and I would have respected a paid app from the start. But changing the model after users have already invested time — and limiting basic features — feels unfair. If you plan to introduce subscriptions, please be transparent about it from the beginning.
Great app just one suggestion

Love the app and its simplicity. Would be great if we can have headings in the ingredients list to separate the ingredients. For example, the cake ingredients and then a heading to separate the frosting ingredients.
Grate up, now charging
Manik4ever
Don’t waste you time, this was a great app. You’ve BEEN able to create multiple folders and upload your recipes until now. Looks like they were free till they got their 4.8 stars, now they charge $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year paste two free folders. Tank god I hadn’t gotten THAT far into converting my stuff. Just do it the ole fashion way and type it out in a notes folder. This is the last app I look to for this service.
Developer Response
Hi there, thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We completely understand the frustration — discovering limitations after you've started using an app is never a great experience. We want to be transparent: core features like importing recipes from Instagram, TikTok, and websites, saving, and syncing across devices remain completely free with no limits. The subscription unlocks additional organization features like unlimited folders. We hear you that this wasn't clear enough upfront, and we're working on making our pricing more transparent so no one feels surprised. Your feedback genuinely helps us improve. If there's anything we can help with, please reach out to us anytime.
- You can now select multiple recipes on the home screen and edit them all at once — super handy for organizing your collection!
- The recipe count at the top got a fresh new capsule look
- Fixed an issue where you might get unexpectedly logged out — sorry about that, you should stay signed in now!
