Understanding the Risks of Respiratory Compromise. Respiratory Compromise is a state in which there is a high likelihood of decompensation into respiratory insufficiency, respiratory failure or death, but in which specific interventions, such as continuous monitoring and therapies, might prevent or mitigate decompensation.15 This educational app investigates how specific continuous respiratory monitors, such as Capnography & pulse oximetry may provide valuable information to lead to earlier identification of Respiratory Compromise. Physiological response differences in oxygenation and ventilation will be displayed in this 360 degree full lung atmosphere. Take a virtual journey into the lungs to see how respiratory function may be impaired by clinical states, and how monitoring parameters can provide the earliest indications of deteriorating, yet preventable, conditions.
