Description

The Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management is an organization affiliated with the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM). We are proud of our history of serving the professional Risk Management community. We are pleased that our membership includes risk managers in acute care, ambulatory care, long term care and managed care settings, patient safety personnel, defense attorneys, insurance and claim management professionals, consultants, quality management professionals, privacy officers, equipment and supply vendors, and health information specialists.

SCAHRM’s educational opportunities include monthly education programs, and an annual educational conference that is regarded as one of the best quality conferences in the field. We plan and design programs that will stimulate thoughts and actions, encourage people to grow in their professional roles, and keep our members well-informed about new legislative requirements, clinical considerations, loss control considerations, litigation claim management, risk financing, and risk prevention techniques. Continuing education credit is provided to qualified attendees through the Board of Registered Nursing and the California State Bar. In addition, the SCAHRM Communication Committee offers a quarterly eNews publication.

We encourage and promote networking among our members by allotting time at meetings, and encouraging service on SCAHRM’s standing committees and ad hoc task forces. Our standing committees include: Bylaws, Communications, Education, Membership, and PR/Marketing. Each Committee is chaired by a member of the SCAHRM Board of Directors, and each Committee welcomes any member who wishes to participate in support of the organization.
