Congratulations!

Lovely App thank you! I followed your blog and loved seeing how you styled the scarves. I have 20+ Hermes scarves that I have collected over the years and your blog helped me create: ‘outside the box’

One suggestion and one request:

Suggestion: if you had an inspiration page with thumbnails (by category) it would be more helpful to find the right look quickly and click on it - I find the search function somewhat frustrating to be honest. Even if a number of inspiration pictures didn’t have a link to directions, the picture itself is still very helpful!

For example, I remember from your blog that you have a number of the large 140cm that you tied as a long vest / gilet and when I searched that size it only provided images of the knots you have listed. I have been looking online for those images but can’t find them anymore (my request!).

Also, you did a number of posts re: care of the scarves - washing, storage, etc. That would also be very helpful for people.

Finally, a favourites button (perhaps on an inspiration page would also be useful!

Again, congratulations!

Tracey

Hello Tracey, - so happy you love the app, thanks so much for your feedback and 5-star rating!

Love the suggestion of a thumbnail page for a quick overview and am checking with the programmers how this could be implemented.

The blog post with washing and care instructions could be added into the “more” section and I am checking on that, too.

The favorite button already exists: when you open a knot you can see a heart symbol on the top right, next to the knot’s name.

Here’s the link for the GM/gilet blog post: http://www.maitaispicturebook.com/2009/05/how-to-wear-your-cashmere-shawl-as.html?m=1

If you have any other questions or suggestions please let me know: appstore@maitaicollection.com

Thanks so much again and I hope you continue to enjoy the app!

Warm regards,
MaiTai

Thanks so much again for your comment and excellent suggestions!

The inspiration page is now implemented, you can find it under “Gallery” in the “More” menu (top right corner). This has instantly become my favorite function, so huge thanks to you.

You can now also find the washing instructions in the “More” menu.

Inspired by your gallery suggestion, we are working on implementing the format as an alternative view for the home page, which would allow you to see all knots in a couple of quick scrolls. Hopefully coming in the next update.

Warmest regards,
MaiTai

Excellent

Has all that I need at my fingertips! Will be a useful resource to learn / practice so that I’m ready to knot at time of dressing. Knot yourself out!

Are there alternatives tools to using scarf buckles e.g, hair bands or regular rings without the middle buckle?

Developer Response ,

Hi, - so happy that you enjoy the app, thanks so much for the great rating!

You can use any round ring (just make sure that the interior is completely smooth) instead of the one shown. The interior diameter is 2cm, but if your scarves are lighter, use a smaller ring.

For the buckle shape a round ring won’t work, but you can use a hair band, or make a simple knot in one scarf end and thereby create a “tunnel” to feed the other end through.

Hope you continue to enjoy the app and if you have any questions please let me know!

Fantastic app! Worth every penny.

Thoughtfully organized and extremely useful whether you wish to master many scarf knots, or just pick up a few nice knots for every day life.

If you are familiar with the MaiTai blog, then you already know that she only puts out quality work. This app is no exception.

Regardless of the number of scarves you own, the app will help you make the most of your collection. If you own a lot of scarves and rings, you can really go down the rabbit hole and master many looks. If you own small number of scarves, the app will teach you to make what you do own, go much much further for you.

What I found interesting is that once I started to try tying knots using the app, I was able to look at my scarves in a whole different light based on which sections will be hidden and which will be accentuated.

It almost seems like I have a number of new scarves because the scarves look so different with various knots. It’s like a “reveal” to see how they look once they are tied. It’s super fun!

The instructions are very easy to follow, and the app allows you to search the knots based on numerous categories including complexity of a knot, scarf size, which part of the scarf you wish to emphasize or hide etc.

Wonderful app. Thank you!
