Switched from Banktivity

I went from Intuit® Quicken® to Microsoft® Money software on the Microsoft® Windows™ OS, then migrated to the Moneydance app on Mac, started fresh with the Banktivity app and migrated to this. My ideal would be *Money* with online downloads since I am in the process of switching back to the Windows™ OS, which Banktivity was closer to than this app, since it had lot matching for stocks rather than using FIFO. I had to essentially pick between stock price downloads and lot matching, since Banktivity was broken in regards to the former. Plus this one works on ARM and without a subscription.
I really need the lot matching as in Canada we have to report Adjusted Cost Base for taxes, which means an average cost across all lots of a security. There should be additional choices for 'AVG/ACB' (average or adjusted cost base) and 'Custom' manual entry of the number of shares sold from each lot, the latter of which was how it worked in Banktivity. I have to calculate ACB using a spreadsheet with independent data entry.

Great Mac app

I used Quicken 2007 right up to when I couldn't stay on Mojave any more. After lots of research I chose SEE Finance 2. Had to wait until my wifes Mac was upgraded to High Sierra then we were off to the races. The conversion went way smoother than the other apps I trialed (such as Banktivity). Learning it was quite quick because the developer cares about following Mac conventions. The developer is open to enhancement requests, and support is excellent. Reports are super-fast. They take some learning if you're used to Quicken reports. The transaction search is very fast and reduces the need for reports. You can't double-click on a report line to edit the relevant transaction, but then you learn how to use transaction search instead which suits most needs. Global transaction change is great! My wife and I share the file using iCloud, accessing from our two Macs. iCloud unfortunately is a very lazy sync so we've learned how to force a sync (in Finder create or delete a dummy folder in the SEE Finance iCloud folder). Up here in Canada we can't download bank transactions so I haven't tested that. Security prices download just fine (use Yahoo symbols). Sorry for the stream of consciousness. Great product!

What I've been looking for

I've been looking for good personal finance software for Mac for a long time, and think I've finally found it. I'm pretty demanding for investment management and reporting, and this should meet all my needs. And QIF (from Windows) import was incredible: over 20 years' data, 28 accounts of all types, close to 25,000 transactions ... imported in seconds with no significant problems.
